Tamara Broome, A 31 year old Australian woman from Adelaide is being held in lieu of $2.35 million bail in North Carolina detention centre after allegedly flying from Australia to lure her 17-year-old World of Warcraft boyfriend back to Australia.

Ms Broome's housemate, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the teen's parents paid for all her traveling expenses so "they could sort it all out," which instead might have been a set up. According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, three detectives made the arrest after the Adelaide woman stepped off an Amtrak train near the teen's home. The pair met through World of Warcraft and the relationship intensified. It is understood they were going to marry. She is charged with attempted abduction of a minor, which according to North Carolina state law, is anyone 17 years old or younger.

Ms. Broome faces more than two years in jail if found guilty. What began as a seemingly harmless relationship has ended in series of traumatizing experiences for Ms. Broome.
