Nintendo has recalled every single copy of the newly released game Mario Party 8 in the UK due to a single utterance of the word spastic in the game. This term has been deemed to be offensive to certain disabled people, while simultaneously no one minds Fergie repeatedly chanting "Lets get retarded in here" on publicaly broadcast radio. The term was also responsible for the pulling of Ubisofts Mind Quiz game a few weeks ago in the same region.

The offensive line comes up in the game when Kamek the Blue Wizard says "Magikoopa magic! Turn this train spastic! Make this ticket tragic!" Personally I feel like they are overreacting, but I lost all sympathy for Nintendo when I heard their completely ridiculous claim that "Unfortunately.... a small number of the games contain the wrong disk due to an assembly error.....we have therefore decided to recall all copies." Come on, how naive do you think we all are? Man up and admit you didn't think the term was offensive, as oafish and stupid as that makes you seem. It's better than insulting everyones intelligence with an obvious diversion of blame like "oh it wasn't us it was a packaging error!" Yeah right!
