MIT has a very strong history of pulling off spectacular pranks. Due to their extreme intelligence and motivation they have been able to pull off some of the most classic goofs in history. Things like dismantling and fully re-assembling a police cruiser on top of their library are the norm. The most memorable and priceless prank in their history has to be the incident where Harvard and Yale were playing their rival football game. These teams are huge opponants and the game was extremely important to both of them. Suddenly durring the 2nd quarter a huge ballon that said "MIT" inflated out of a trap door on the 50 yard line halting play. This ballon was put in place by DKE (Delta Kappa Epsilon) fraternity brothers, and is widely considered to be the best college prank of all time!
Today however the prank pulled off, again against Harvard, has a much more gamer oriented tone. The statue of John Harvard was found with a Spartan Helmet and Assault Rifle. On the back the words "Master Chief in training" were written. Personally I'm impressed with how good this looks. It's nothing compared to the football prank, but it's pretty cool that someone would take their love of Halo to this extreme. You could get expelled from MIT for doing something like this if you are caught. It's kinda like the Spartan tradition from 300 where you are encouraged to steal and lie, but getting caught still carries the same severe penalties. The point is to get away with it, and this gamer used his skills in subterfuge and organization to extremely good effect. Bravo!
