Ultima Online Reborn

Graphics update for classic game

The original MMORPG, Ultima Online, is celebrating it's 10 year aniversary with an exciting graphics upgrade. Electronic Arts has developed a brand new client for the game, bringing an improved user interface and a massive upgrade to the previously two dimensional graphics. This updated version of the game is known as Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn. Get the two week free trial Here

The new client is rated "T for teen" and requires a 1 gigahertz processor with at least 512 megs of ram. Users who don't wish to upgrade will still be able to play with their old client, so no players are being forced to upgrade their hardware. The one issue with the launch is that all the old 3rd party applications that would run over the original Ultima Online will need to be re-worked completely in order to function with the new version.

An extreme positive of the upgrade for all the old players is that cheating, duping items, and various exploits will be eliminated in the new client. With a completely re-working of the security features Electronic Arts has created a much more secure game and promises a vastly improved user experience regarding bugs and exploits. These changes will not only impact players with the new client, but blanket the entire game including those using the old version of the game.
