The senior producer of Warhammer Online Jeff Hickman said the game was technically ready to launch, but is being delayed AGAIN this time till fall of this year. He said "All the content's done. The game is fully playable. Technically, I could launch the game today." but added "We need more time to polish it."
A lot more time is going to be needed in my opinion to get rid of horrible looking graphics like those shown in the above image. It might be realistic, but I don't see the appeal of homely women in a fantasy game. I haven't seen any graphics from Warhammer that make me go "that looks reasonable" they all look like ass. The features are blocky, the textures are horrific, and the general feel of the game's look is way sub-par. I like smooth pretty graphics, not blocky ugly graphics that look like they came from a game in 1995. How is this woman supposed to compete in a marketplace full of glorious Night Elf nypmphs?
Supposedly they are overhauling a lot of the game so I can hope the graphics get a serious second look. "We're looking at every quest in the game, we're looking at how the
land is set up, all of the content. Everything," Hickman said. "And making
sure that it feels the way that it needs to feel, and that we want it
to feel, so that we can have a slam dunk success when we launch the
game." I dunno if the "feel" they want is old and busted. Hopefully it's something they address because the concepts surrounding their PvP plan are very appealing to me. The graphics are not going to make or break my enjoyment of the game, PvP will and if it works how they are advertising I'm going to be hooked, but look at Age of Conan! AOC has the graphics and the PvP both and is FFA instead of a crappy 2 faction system. Two factions systems crush guild vs guild PvP and politics. It is by far my most hated feature of WoW.
