Guitar Hero IV

Now with drums

How do you put a drum set into a game called Guitar Hero? Don't ask, just go with the flow. Details which emerged today about the upcoming fourth Guitar Hero reveal that it indeed does have drums; basically stealing the popular componant from it's main competition Rock Band. The important question is (since these drums are newer) are they going to be superior to the Rock Band peripheral? There are more inputs, so perhaps one-upsmanship will spiral out of control and we will wind up with a full Neal Pert 360 degree rig by the end of next year.

The other big thing is that they totally took my idea for creating your own songs, which is completely awesome. You can play your own tab from scratch in Guitar Hero IV, presumably by hitting the buttons as the tab scrolls up and then having it saved and fed back to you later. This means there is really no end to the game anymore. One major thing we have encountered in tournaments is that players just memorized the songs! When player 1 chooses his favorite song he wins, when player 2 chooses the song he knows best he prevails. Having the ability to download a brand new song and see who rocks best will be awesome. There is also the option to do a dueling guitars type head to head battle where I play whatever I want, then you have to copy it and we go back and forth doing that till a clear victor emerges.
