A lightsaber game for the Wii is one of those obvious things that immediately jumps into everybody's mind when they use the system for the first time. Apparently this fact was not lost on the folks over at Lucas Arts. When asked about it in a recent interview Jim Ward, president of Lucas Arts, responded "We're all over that, and internally we have already played a
lightsaber game on the Wii. It's a lot of fun, and we'll get there,"
said Ward. "There'll be some stuff out this Fall -- it's going to be a
lot of fun."
Granted "a lightsaber game" does not definitely mean a game where you use the Wii mote as the handle of a lightsaber. It could in fact refer to any Star Wars game ever made, making this a pretty uninformative statement. Still, a Wii game where you can fight vs another player in a light saber duel by wildly swinging your Wii motes at each other could easily degenerate into grabbing each other, pushing each other, hitting, and kicking. It would undoubtedly make a boatload of money due to these exciting "features". If Lucas Arts cares about one thing it's the almighty dollar. Evidence = episode 1; the worst movie ever made in the quest for a buck. Based on this I would bet the farm on this rumor panning out.
