Review: Grand Theft Auto IV

I found it hard to believe GTA IV was a bigger improvement from the previous game than III was over II but it is completely and totally true. The initial shock over the use of the E-brake and the header I took through the windshield quickly faded as I realized the car damage engine in this game is better than any racing game I've ever seen. When it first started raining and I experienced the change in driving I was floored.
  
  I'm left with a sense of awe at the city. The Voig offices are about a half hour north of NYC, but there is nothing much to do here and I find myself there often enough to know the representations of Brooklyn and Manhattan are great. The only thing that could be better would be a 100% accurate map of the city.
  
  The police system was one area I didn't like, but now it's growing on me. For one star is pretty much sucks. How could they lose interest when I'm two blocks away? They could still see me speeding off! When you get up to three stars however it's a very nice system. I also noticed that doing a crime where no cops can see it doesn't automatically generate stars like it used to; a huge improvement in my opinion.
  
  One wish I have is for a mode where the cops were very anal. Basically "hard" mode where you can't side swipe them and drive off.

Holy shit this game is fucking awesome. The guy on CNN said you could get a hooker, beat her to death with a baseball bat, then drive down the sidewalk running everyone over. So I did it and you know what? It was the most fucking fun I've ever had in my life. Now that I have a fucking taste for it I might just start fucking being a psycho in real life too. Fuck!
  
  When you fucking hit someone with your car they totally rag doll in the most hilarious fucking way ever. I can't stop myself from driving around smashing the fuck out of everyone I see. I can't believe something as simple as a little pedestrian crushing could be so fucking awesome.
  
  One fucked up thing is that when I shoot a person or just hit them once with the car they get up and run totally normally. I mean what the fuck? It would be great if they were severely injured and showed it. I want to see someone dragging themself away leaving a giant bloody trail on the ground. Then I could feign sympathy as I back my car up to get a good bit of speed before I fucking smash into them again.
  
  Also why the fuck are there no kids in this game? Liberty city is apparently populated by a bunch of fucking prudes or just homosexuals. The only possible way to make it better would be crosswalks full of kids. Fuck!

GTA IV is finally out and it's everything I had hoped it would be. It takes the series in the most amazing direction with added realism, the best characters to date, and gorgeous graphics. There are decisions to make that branch the story in different directions so I'll be playing it again and again for a long time.
  
  The most astonishingly good thing about the game is the story. It's literally a better version of the sopranos where you get to play as the most badass character! Never before in my life have I watched every cut scene in a game with rapt attention and had this much eagerness to find out what is going to happen with the plot. I can't believe there isn't a movie coming out for this already, it's tailor made for it and would rake in the cash.
  
  My one complaint is the ridiculous use of the word fuck. I'm not the type of person who would bring this up if it wasn't bad. Even adults should have a problem with how often this game drops the F bomb on them. It's to the point of stupidity. You do any mission and you get it multiple times in the cut scene ok, but when you walk down the street you really don't need every random pedestrian you pass to throw it at you. How am I supposed to entertain my cousins during thanksgiving, turn the sound off?
